Acquainted with the Night

This appears to be a debut novel.

Caroline Clifford lived an everyday life as a tour guide when her uncle is brutally murdered at a Bulgarian archaeological site. While traveling to Bulgaria to bring his remains back to England , she meets a man who had been corresponding with her uncle, a biochemist who hates vampires. Soon she is surrounded by lots of signs of the vampires she thought were myth, pursued by police for the murder of her flatmate and followed by vampires who kidnap her. Strange anagrams lead her and the biochemist, Jude Barrett, to a cliff top monastery in Greece where a shattering revelation connects an icon to an ages-old text and a prophecy that pits the forces of light and darkness against each other and may affect the future of the world.

Combine The DaVinci Code, with supernatural romance in a fast-paced action adventure with twists within twists,. Add in corporate greed and you have a page turner you can't put down. I look forward to more work by this author; the ending leaves it open for a sequel. Enjoy. ~~ Pam Allan
