This is a Shades of Fury novel.

Marissa Holloway is a Fury, member of an arcane race that has meted out justice since time immemorial. She is also Boston's Chief Magical investigator and is responsible for solving any crimes committed by or against supernaturals.

Of late, things have been almost too quiet, but all that changes when the bodies of Bastai, shape shifters also called Cats, start piling up. There is a common thread - the victims all were flames of FBI Agent Harper Cruz. Scott Murphy, Riss’s lover, had a one night stand with Cruz giving Riss ample reason catch the murderer before Scott is next.

The author of Red Hot Fury is breaking new ground with a smart, determined, heroine with a sense of humor. One difference between this and the average members of the Genre is the character development of the side characters making for a better story. If you like urban fantasy, you will have to have this in your library. I am going hunting for Red Hot Fury to fill out the set. Enjoy. ~~ Pam Allan
