Homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis is not happy when she is assigned a new partner who is obstructive, arrogant, and refuses to take instructions. He also has wings that most humans cannot see. Aramael is assigned by the Supreme Sereph to protect Alex though it may lead to a war between heaven and hell. His brother is an escaped fallen angel turned serial killer that Alex is trying to catch. But her new partner is a hunter of fallen angels and is being set up via celestial intrigue to be the war starter. How will anyone survive?
This lands in the genre of supernatural romance with some strange twists, I like the idea that God, called The One is female It does have plenty of action and the feeling at times of a police procedural. It is a debut novel and surprisingly well-written. I look forward to reading the next one. Definitely worth the read. ~~ Pam Allan
