Caine's Law
by Mathew Stover
Del Rey, $16.00, 478pp
Release Date: April 3, 2012

Stover is the author of Heroes Die, Blade of Tyshalle, and Caine Black Knife.

Caine, washed up and hung out to dry by the Studio that exploited him, is being kept isolated and restrained. Now they have dragged him back for one last deal but Caine has his own agenda. He plans to go back to the "Overworld,” the alternate reality where gods and magic are real. In a violent odyssey through time and space, Caine will face his demons while finding true love and just possibly destroying the universe.

Here, amongst great characters, is more action than you can ask for in two realities and some questions about media, reality and godhood. Caine is more hero than protagonist and finds a way to find a way. Couldn't put it down. It made me think. Enjoy. ~~ Pam Allan
