Nested Scrolls
by Rudy Rucker
Tor, $16 USA, $18.50 Canada, 327pp
Release Date: December 11, 2012
Rucker's autobiography is a combination of mundane family details with a mainstream appeal, and behind the scenes history of the science fiction cyberpunk movement. There is also the career path through academia of a talented mathematician. Sci-fi fans should not be put off that the book is framed with the more mundane stuff as if he were really just reminiscing for his grandkids. Okay, much of the book is that, but even if it is skimmed there is lots to interest fandom. And I love the way he will introduce some characters with very judgmental descriptions, that literary revenge that autobiography affords. Definitely an interesting read ~~Mike Griffin
