Harry Harrison! Harry Harrison!
by Harry Harrison
Tor, $13 Nook or Kindle,$27.00HB, 352pp
Published: November 2014

A fascinating autobiography by one of the 2nd-generation science fiction greats.

He was a member of 1st fandom, attending the 1st scifi con in 1939 but not writing until the 1950s.  Although a liberal, John Campbell wanted him to be the next editor of Analog magazine but he declined.  Some must-read classics he wrote include The Stainless Steel Rat about an antihero-crook, and the antiwar parody Bill the Galactic Hero, called "the only true book ever written about the military."

I would call these three books essential reading in the history of science fiction, and still just as readable and relevant today as ever. ~~ Mike Griffin
