Did you know that "Bikes in Space is an annual anthology of feminist bicycle science fiction"?
It is now published by the Portland, Oregon company, Microcosm Publishing, which has quite the alternative bookstore in downtown Portland. MP is a serious, prolific publisher with the whole warehouse full of books routinely going on. So far, the series has seven anthologies and one novel out:
Bikes in Space Volume 1 - May, 2013. $5.95 - Initially intended as a one-off project, Vol 1 was the 10th issue of Taking the Lane zine.
Bikes in Space Volume 2 - May, 2014. $9.95 - Bikes in Space 2 departs from the zine format and is a paperback book with more, longer stories.
Bikes in Space Volume 3 - Fall, 2015, $9.95 - is Pedal Zombies: 13 Feminist Science Fiction Stories,
Our first Bikes in Space novel is Emily June Street's The Velocipede Races, April, 2016, $9.95
Bikes in Space Volume 4 August, 2017, $12.95 - is Biketopia: Feminist Bicycle Science Fiction Stories in Extreme Futures.
Bikes in Space #5 - December, 2018, $11.95 - is Bikes Not Rockets: Intersectional Feminist Bicycle Science Fiction Stories.

Bikes in Space #7 -January, 2021, $12.95 - is Trans-Galactic Bike Ride.
Some of these are also available on Amazon Kindle or Nook ebooks. Judging by the free previews therein, the quality of writing is as good as you will find in any sci-fi magazine. And the subgenre! Who knew that there was such a thing as feminist bicycle science fiction! Will the sense of wonders never cease? ~~ M.L. Fringe
