Inkpot Gods by Seanan McGuire is powerful and brilliant. Just when you think you have a grasp on the series of Alchemical Journeys, Seanan turns her work on its head. The interwoven story of Asphodel and the present characters will keep you fascinated, especially as you see the glimmers of the direction Seanan McGuire is taking with the novel and the series.

Inkpot Gods is an impossible mix of horror and fantasy with completely unforeseen consequences. As we see the merging of the alchemists, the lunars and the cuckoos, including Roger and Dodger, unexpected results occur. The story moves the needle on the series, changing what you think you know completely. And if you love the characters, you will not be able to wait to read it.

If you like Seanan McGuire and the previous novels in the series, you will find it powerful and brilliant. I can't spoil too much but I can tell you not to miss reading this. It has completely unexpected twists in the story that will change what you know of the world entirely. I loved the journey and can't wait for more.
