C is for Cthulhu
by Jason Ciaramella
Illustrated by Greg Murphy
ComixTribe, $19.99, 28pp
Published: December 2014

C is for Cthulhu is not your average children’s alphabet board book, it's inspired by the mythos of H.P. Lovecraft. The illustrations are fantastically creepy, with characters and monsters to delight children of all ages.  It's boldly colorful and a fun read.  I purchased copies of this for, not only for my grandchildren, but myself as well, their Cthulhu is an adorably lovable character.

I haven't seen a child who wasn't engaged by the characters, and enjoyed hearing a loved one reading the story to them.  Who needs "C is for Cat: All cuddly and cute", when you have "C is for Cthulhu. In his house at R'leyeh, red Cthulhu waits dreaming...".

If you are a Lovecraft or Cthulhu fan or if you have younger family members who like weird and wondrous things, this is the book to read together. ~~ Dee Astell
