Synopsis: Finder the tree frog absolutely loves solving mysteries. So when all the animals in Belly Acre Bog mysteriously disappear overnight, Finder and her friends Chopper and Keeper are toad-ally on the case. But when Seymour Warts, the world's greatest detective and Finder's hero, arrives on the scene and begins his own investigation, the young creature finders soon realize that this mystery could be even bigger than their little bog!
This is the first book in the Finder's Creatures series, featuring a tree frog called Finder and his animal friends. Keeper is a super-smart turtle who enjoys collecting things. Chopper is a beaver who loves tacos and serves as comic relief
Unbeknowest to our main character, the mystery at the heart of the story is actually two cases. Finder is working on one and her hero, a Sherlock Holmes-type memorably named Seymour Warts, is working on the other. They intersect upon occasion, making the story a lively and interesting read, filled with humor and mystery.
The characters are simply but creatively drawn and highly original looking in appearance. The panels are nicely colored and well-laid-out and easy to follow.
My granddaughter and I enjoyed this story and its characters and look forward to reading and following along with the next adventure in the Finder's series, 'Alarm at The Farm', due to be released later this year. ~~ ~ Dee Astell & Paisley Hernandez
