The Sounds of Death
by A. A. Pecora
Trafford Publishing, $25 hardcover, $16 trade paperback, $4 Kindle, 284pp
Publication date: June 8, 2012
This is the first novel from a retired doctor. It is written in a flat, matter-of-fact film-noir style. The main character is a happily remarried private investigator of the low-rent kind who takes compromising photos for divorce cases. His life and his wife's, gets very complicated when he inadvertently records what may be the sound of a prominent attorney’s murder. I’m no big fan of this genre, but if you are then I guess it’s worth the Kindle price. ~~ Mike Griffin
