As book one, I think Maid for the Rock Star is a decent start for the Romance Island Resort series.

As a maid at the exclusive Romance Island Resort, Audra does a good job and never breaks the rules, especially rule 1: no relationships with guests. It becomes a hard rule to keep, though, especially when Jay Felix, heartthrob rock star and her teenage fantasy, comes to stay at the resort. Jay can have any almost any woman he wants and he knows it, so, when he goes into hiding due to one of his fellow musicians wanting to break up the band, he looks for distraction and sets his sights on Audra.

While trembling on the inside with desire, Audra manages to keep her composure and portray a calm and professional demeanor, while Jay does his damndest to entice her into his bed.

This story is a good read and it keeps the sexual tension boiling as the story unfolds. Yes, there are sex scenes, well-written ones, I might add, as well as drama, happiness and sadness as we get a glimpse into the lives of the characters. It doesn't have the traditional happily ever after ending that some romance novels have, but I found it a satisfying ending for the modern world.

This is the first book by Demelza Carlton that I've read, but it won't be the last. She has many different genre series to delve into and I plan to do so in the future. ~~ Dee Astell
