It is Halloween in Caerphilly and the town is holding a festival to celebrate, and bring in tourist dollars. For once Meg is not in charge overall but she is running the volunteer group helping with security. The festival has attracted lots of tourists as well as an undercover game that includes such tasks as sneaking in to the zoo or scaring someone with a fake body part. While the game is causing some problems it is mostly just harmless but then a body is found at Meg’s grandfather’s zoo.

Meg’s family is always a delight to visit and these holiday entries in the series are some of the best.  The murderer was not obvious to begin with but made perfect sense at the denouncement. Overall the mysteries in this series are just background for the antics of Meg’s delightfully eccentric family.  I am really enjoying my re-read of this series and cannot recommend it highly enough. ~~ Stephanie L Bannon
