OVERALL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Charity Auction is a chance for the attendees to bid on donated items with the
proceeds going to charity
PRE-CON
Creates rules for Auction and has Chair and Banker approve them
Suggests charities to the Chair who will make the final decision
Creates forms for buyers
Solicits donations
Recruits auctioneer, runners and staff for auction
AT-CON
Makes sure auction items are securely stored pre-auction
Transports items to auction site
Sets up auction items for inspection
Hands out bidder numbers
Runs auction
Collects all unsold items and keeps them secure
Takes payment from buyers
POST-CON
Gives all hard-copy and electronic paperwork to Banker within 2 weeks of convention’s
end
Arranges for all unsold items to be returned to donors unless other arrangements were
made pre-convention.
