Overall Job Description:


Head of Programming is responsible for all at con program panels. While the head of programming needs to be aware of the Karaoke, Viewing room and Gaming schedules they are not responsible for activities in those areas.
Ideally the Head of Programming will create a program participant questionnaire that consists of: Name, contact info, when the program participant is available, a list of suggested panels consisting of clever titles and descriptions and a space for the program participant to describe any special events they might wish to present.
HoP will then contact potential program participants with the questionnaire, both directly and via the forums. All guests also get the questionnaire. As questionnaires are returned those panels with interest are placed on the schedule and those without are dropped.
HoP creates layouts and room changes and gives them to the Hotel Liaison no later than 8 weeks pre-con
HoP creates a program schedule
HoP creates the pocket program
HoP creates a list of technical or equipment needs for each panel and makes sure head of Tech has it no less than 4 weeks pre-con.
HoP provides the schedule to the web master no later than 4 weeks pre-con
HoP sends each panel participant their schedule at least 4 weeks pre-con
HoP provides the publications person with a schedule, panel descriptions including names of people on the panels, and a list of program participants and small bios for the program book.
Creates, or updates, database of program participants with contact info and info on types of panels/demos, etc


HoP meets with each program participant as they arrive on site. HoP provides the program participant with a packet containing their schedule, name plate and their badge/s.
HoP makes sure that needed equipment is available and working before it is needed for a panel and that it is set up and running on time for the panel.
HoP provides a daily schedule for each program room.
HoP provides an easy to find update site for last minute changes.


Turns over updated database of program participants to Banker
Sends thank you notes to all program participants
Creates report on which panels worked and which did not
